~Life After Divorce~

After her divorce, Diana tried to live life as a normal person but it was very hard. The paparazzi still followed her everywhere. After the divorce was final, she began to go out in pubic with other men. She focused her life around her charities, ranging from the Royal Ballet in London to the Red Cross campaign against land mine use. She traveled to different places like Angola and to Bosnia to see the effects of land mine use as a guest of the International Red Cross. Some of the staff recalls how Princess Diana kept the photographers away so she could have some private moments with the victims of the land mines.

Diana first met Dodi Fayed at a polo math in July of 1986. At the time her marriage was beginning to fall apart but she had to maintain her public appearance. Diana and Dodi crossed paths over the years at different social occasions. One time, she took her sons to see the movie "Hook," she ran into Dodi there. He was the executive producer of the movie. He loved the Hollywood lifestyle. In the summer of 1997, Diana and Dodi became romantically involved. He was the son of a well known Egyptian multi-millionaire Mohammed Fayed. He lived in London where he owned Harrod's in London and the Ritz in Paris. He was friends with Diana's father and stepmother. He was the one to first introduce Diana to Dodi. Some people thought that Dodi was not a suitable prospect for Diana becuase he had many romantic involvements in the past. Over the years they continued to see each other. There were rumors of engagement between the two but it was never confirmed.
