Founder

The founders of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles are William Harley and Arthur Davidson. They began experiments on "taking the work out of bicycling" around 1901. In 1903 the company Harley-Davidson was founded. Harley-Davidson Motorcycles were manufactured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1903 through 1972. From 1972 to today Harley-Davidson Motorcycles have been built in Milwaukee and then shipped to Pennsylvania.
