Basic pig life
- BIRTH
- Pigs are weaned from 5 to 6 weeks
- After pigs are weaned they goto the nursery(from the sow unit)
- pigs are now able to be treated with medication for there illness
- After pigs stay in the nursery for 8 weeks they goto the finisher
- The finisher is the last stop
At the 23rd week they stop beiing treated, bic buyer across seas don't
want medicines in the meat
- The next 5 weeks they try to put weight on them and try to keep them alive
- 250-300 Ready for market to be slaughtered and shipped off acrooss seas, or
to be used in the USA
- 38 week life
