There are two kinds of softball, fastpitch and slowpitch. They have their differences and they have their similarites. They both involve pitchers, fielders, batters, and the same equipment. They just have different rules. The games are also played at different tempos. You can see the differences on my rules pages for fastpitch and slowpitch.
One type of softball is the women's slowpitch and fastpitch. There are many ages and leagues that you can play in. Most leagues start at twelve and under. In the year 1999, there was 18 teams in the league.

They play their games in minor league baseball parks and college fields. Some of the owners have been former players of the NBA, NFL, and MLB.
