MARIJUANA
Marijuanas effect is if one smokes marijuana, then THC rapidly passes from the lungs into the bloodstream, which carries the chemical to organs throughout the body, including the brain. What happens in the brain THC connects to specific sites called cannabinoid receptors on nerve cells and influences the activity of those cells. Some brain areas have many cannabinoid receptors; others have few or none. Many cannabinoid receptors are found in the parts of the brain that influence their pleasure, memory, thought, concentration, sensory and time perception, and coordination and movements.such an effect might occur from marijuanaÕs effects on blood pressure and heart rate and reduced oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. Depression(19), anxiety(20), and personality disturbances(21) have been associated with marijuana use. Research clearly demonstrates that marijuana has potential to cause problems in daily life or make a personÕs existing problems worse.
PCP
PCP effects the body with a slight increase in breathing rate and a pronounced rise in blood pressure and pulse rate. Breathing becomes shallow, and flushing and profuse sweating occur. Generalized numbness of the extremities and loss of muscular coordination. When one uses the drug this may occurby nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, flicking up and down of the eyes, drooling, loss of balance, and dizziness. High doses of PCP can also cause seizures, coma, and death (though death more often results from accidental injury or suicide during PCP intoxication). High doses can cause symptoms that mimic schizophrenia, such as delusions, hallucinations, and paronia.
HEROIN
Heroin effects cause dry mouth, and heavy extremities. Following thisinitial euphoria, the user goes "on the nod," an alternately wakeful and drowsy state. Mental functioning becomes clouded due to the depression of the central nervous system. Long-term effects of heroin appear after repeated use for some period of time.street heroin may have additives that do not readily dissolve and result in clogging the blood vessels that lead to the lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain.
CRACK/COCAINE
cocaines effects cause peripheral blood vessels, dilated pupils, and increased temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure. When using this drug it may even cause sudden death.
METH
Meth effects may cause the central nervous system actions that result from taking even small amounts of methamphetamine include increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, decreased appetite, increased respiration, hyperthermia, and euphoria. Other CNS effects include irritability, insomnia, confusion, tremors, convulsions, anxiety, paranoia, and aggressiveness. Hyperthermia and convulsions can result in death.
ECTASY
Ectasy may cause a sharp increase in body temperature (hyperthermia), resulting in liver, kidney, and cardiovascular system failure. Some symptoms of this may increases in heart rate and blood pressure, a special risk for people with circulatory problems or heart disease, and other symptoms such as muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating.
LSD/ACID
LSD can cause for the first effects of the drug 30 to 90 minutes after taking it. The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, sweating, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors. LSD users may manifest relatively long-lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression.
